Kate Walsh seems to have moved on from her divorce to film executive Alex Young – she attended the Emmy Awards Sunday with new beau Neil Andrea. But the Private Practice actress isn’t about to kiss-and-tell.
When asked about her hot date, Walsh told PEOPLE, “I’m not going to talk about that! I know you have to ask, but it’s super top-secret! It’s in the vault!”
What wasn’t secret was their affection. In the Architectural Digest greenroom at the Emmy Awards, Walsh introduced Andrea to actor Chris O’Donnell as “my boyfriend.” Later, the pair were seen locking lips, according to the New York Daily News.
Andrea also supported her at the ABC Private Practice “Blow Out Cancer” charity event benefiting the American Cancer Society Monday night at Spago in Beverly Hills.
At the Private Practice event Monday, Walsh, 41, and Andrea, 35, arrived together but Walsh talked to the press while Andrea quietly slipped inside to hold court with her costars Taye Diggs, Tim Daly, Paul Adelstein, and Chris Lowell.
In a March cover story for Redbook, Walsh thanked her friends and family for supporting her after Young, whom she married in September 2007, filed for divorce in December 2008 citing irreconcilable differences. She said, “Alex and I still care for each other, and I wish him nothing but the best.”

Capitol File magazine has included a “Dear Kate” column for the latest issue of Capitol File with Kate on the cover.
CAPITOL FILE: So you were recently in DC to enjoy some of the White House Correspondents’ Dinner and affiliated parties. Tell me about that experience.
KATE WALSH: It was incredible. I had been invited in previous years, but this is the first time I really wanted to go. I thought the president’s speech was fantastic. I appreciated his self-deprecating humor. And Wanda Sykes was hilarious. It was great to get to meet (and geek out over) so many of the Washington press and politicians, too.
CF: Tell me about what you have going on professionally.
KW: I’m about to embark on an extensive European press tour, promoting the show abroad, and then finally take a vacation afterward. Private Practice will be on Thursdays after Grey’s Anatomy again in the fall. I also have a movie coming out in early 2010 called Legion.
CF: I know you campaigned for Obama and have been active with charitable groups. Did your time spent in DC spark any political dreams or ambitions?
KW: Campaigning for the president was a fantastic and rewarding experience, to be sure. I especially loved meeting and connecting with so many people across this country who got out, volunteered and campaigned passionately. I think there’s a little part of me that fantasizes about serving in public office.
CF: Will we see Senator Walsh a few years down the road?
KW: Ha! Maybe Senator Addison Montgomery! [Walsh’s character on Practice]
CF: What was your impression of the Washington scene and the political scene as someone who has been on the campaign trail—and as someone familiar with Hollywood instead of “Poliwood”?
KW: To see people participating in democracy, and effecting change is incredibly exciting. I think Washington is a very exciting, sexy place… can I say sexy? Yeah, I just decided: sexy. So many of the most important decisions and contributions to the country and the world at large are made in DC. How can that not be magnetic?
CF: Any secret hobbies or passions?
KW: I play the clarinet and the drums. Yeah. Dig it.
CF: If we didn’t know Kate Walsh as an actress, we’d know her as…
KW: A person who’s not comfortable going on and on about herself in a magazine article!
CF: Are you more tech or touch?
KW: I’m a total dork, technically.
CF: Do you Tweet?
KW: No.
CF: What is your take on social networking and putting the mundane actions of your life in an e-post for everyone to read?
KW: I think it’s fine if you are promoting work, but otherwise I think it’s symptomatic of an increasingly narcissistic and self-indulgent culture. I say write in your super-top-secret journal and keep it under your pillow. Oops, did I just basically blog?
CF: Those Cadillac commercials you did gave such sex appeal to the historically masculine brand. Are you someone who likes to put the pedal to the metal or are you more into Sunday drives in real life?
KW: No matter what I say here is going to sound like sexual innuendo, so here it goes: I like to go fast, but slow has become more and more appealing.
CF: What is your goal today, and where do you want to be 10 years from now?
KW: I want to continue to create and hopefully be of service in some way to the culture. I can’t imagine where I will be in 10 years.
CF: Who inspired you to act?
KW: Glinda the Good Witch of the North.
CF: Do you think you have arrived?
KW: I don’t believe in “arrival” (I say this as I type on a floatie in my swimming pool, sipping a mojito… kidding).
CF: Define happiness…
KW: Ever-changing.

Add the name Kate Walsh to the roster of celebs who may run for office one day. “I think there’s a little part of me that fantasizes about serving in public office,” says the “Private Practice” star in the current issue of Capitol File magazine, which hits newsstands today.
When pressed on whether she’d ever run for Senate, Walsh replied, “Ha! Maybe Senator Addison Montgomery!” referring to her character on the show.
Walsh, who campaigned for President Barack Obama last year, also confessed that she thinks Washington is now sexy: “I think Washington is a very exciting, sexy place… can I say sexy? Yeah, I just decided: sexy. So many of the most important decisions and contributions to the country and the world at large are made in DC. How can that not be magnetic?”

Lauren Conrad may have left The Hills behind, but that doesn’t mean she can’t still laugh at it with the rest of us.
Ms. L.C. herself stopped by last night’s, “The Hills: A Staged Reading,” put on by the Upright Citizen’s Brigade, and enjoyed the festivities alongside fans and comedian’s alike. Even better? Gorgeous Private Practice star, Kate Walsh played the role of the recently retired reality starlet, and Lauren couldn’t get enough.
Throughout the evening, Walsh performed an uncanny impersonation of Conrad’s now infamous Hills lines including, “Tell me if he’s cute cause I’m drunk,” “You’re a bad person. That’s reality,” and the classic diss said to ex-BFF Heidi Montag, “I want to forgive you and I want to forget you.” Surprisingly enough, the real Lauren sat rows away laughing at Walsh…and thus laughing at herself.
The Upright Citizen’s Brigade kept the mood light, giving the night a truly accurate introduction to the night: “You’ve seen Shakespeare, you’ve seen Mozart, now experience the work of the greatest geniuses of our time. It’s Heidi vs. Lauren and it’s really, really important.”
Truer words have never been spoken. Really.

Grey’s Anatomy cast reunion alert! Kate Walsh threw a birthday party for Sally Ann Brooks, her good friend (and onetime Grey’s guest star), at BoHo, a new gastropub in Hollywood. And T.R. Knight and Justin Chambers were on hand to celebrate with their significant others. While Chambers stayed near his wife Keisha, Knight was equally affectionate with boyfriend Mark Cornelsen and “let [him] take a seat on his lap,” a guest tells us.

I’m sorry this is a little late, maybe a few days later than it should be. But Kate is currently being featured in People Magazine’s Most Beautiful People issue at the moment. I don’t think there’s a new photoshoot for it, but of course, Kate looked as stunning as ever. Scans are coming soon, so don’t forget to check back for scans of this issue. I’m not entirely sure if she’s got her own page, but she’s definitely listed.
EDIT: Thanks to Amelia, Rachel and Auie, I have finally added 1 HQ Scan of Kate in the People’s 100 Most Beautiful Issue. I’m not sure if there are more than one, but if there is more than one, then I’ll add them later.

I’m sorry if this is a little bit late, but a few days ago, Kate made an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show and has said that she would be putting up her Custom RODO Heels for Auction on Ebay for The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS). The shoes were designed by Kate herself, and there are only two pairs out there, one for another auction and one for Kate. So now she is offering her pair to go on an auction for The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS). They’ve been used and worn by Kate and have been Signed by Kate as well.

Kate Walsh stormed on to the set of ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ as the villain who got in the way of Meredith and Derek but left with a successful show of her own in ‘Private Practice.’ She sits down with Michigan Avenue magazine to discuss her career and image issues in Hollywood.
Her Job: “It’s not a bad way to make a living. It’s kind of surreal — I don’t think anybody grows up thinking they’re going to fake-make out with really hot guys on television.”
Charity: “I’m doing some volunteer work, but I don’t want it to be about publicity. Like anybody I have moments of feeling very low — disenchanted or discouraged — and one of the best ways out of that for me is to be of service.”
What she was told early on in her career: “‘You don’t have it, you’ll never make it.’ If I were to listen to any of that … I’ve always been too big-boned for this business. I think it’s crazy. We’re not runway models — we’re actors. We’re human.”
Dieting: “I like to eat. If I try to diet it always backfires and I eat more. I can’t starve myself or deny myself. It’s about portion control for me. I try not to emotionally eat, but that’s not to say that I don’t have my late-night chocolate. There’s always a chocolate bar in the refrigerator.”
Her body now: “I’m in better shape now than I was in my 20s.”

We’ve obtained legal papers filed last Friday by Young, who claims the accounting firm he and Walsh used has turned on him by refusing to ante up a full accounting of joint assets. But wait till you hear what they are arguing over.
London & Co., the accounting firm, filed legal papers earlier this month, essentially asking a judge to tell Young to get lost. The firm wants a protective order against Young, claiming it has given him all the financial info he needs but he keeps making more demands. Now Young’s lawyer
is fighting the protective order, claiming London & Co. is acting like a P.R. firm for Walsh and that the protective order reads like a “press release to benefit one client, Ms. Walsh.”
Young says a month before they got married back in 2007, they bought a multi-million dollar house together and furnished it with expensive stuff, and London & Co. refuses to give him an accounting. But we know what went down — fact is, Kate made the lion’s share of the down payment and the house has gone down in value since they bought it — so there are no profits to split. Plus, he walked out on Kate, leaving her with a huge mortgage and all the monthly expenses.
So why is Young making such a big stink over assets that are pretty clean? It’s a little perplexing. It’s not like he needs the dough. We know he makes more than a million bucks a year as a bigwig at FOX. She makes around $3 mil a year on “Private Practice” and other projects.
So let’s review. He leaves her, sticks her with the mortgage, he makes a bundle, but he’s dragging out the divorce like a remake of “War of the Roses.” So, we ask, what’s the deal?”
