Private Practice Renewed!
Posted By: | May 11, 2012

Private Practice has indeed been renewed for a sixth season! We’re so extremely thrilled about this, however we are a little saddened by the fact that it’s only been renewed for 13 episodes and it’s said to be the final season.

Private Practice For a 13 Episode Finale?
Posted By: | May 2, 2012

The doctors could be in for one more abbreviated season on Private Practice.

ABC may consider picking up the Grey’s Anatomy spin-off for a 13-episode sixth and final season, Deadline reports.

Save these shows!

The bubble show still could earn itself a fuller 18- or 22-episode order, but the website reports that star Kate Walsh, who plays neonatal surgeon Dr. Addison Montgomery, will be committing to 13 episodes when her contract comes up for renewal.

Private Practice moved from Thursdays to Tuesdays on April 17, and although the series dropped 23 percent from its usual viewership in its first outing in the new time slot, the following week it increased 29 percent, becoming its most-watched telecast in over a year.

Private Practice airs Tuesdays at 10/9c on ABC.

What do you think about a 13-episode final season?

We’re unsure as to if this is real or just a rumor, although we really hope it’s just a rumor. We love Private Practice and we really hope that the show will go at least beyond 13 episodes and that Kate will be part of every episode.

Kate’s Secret to Rich Red Hair
Posted By: | May 1, 2012

Kate Walsh has a red hair secret: She uses three different shampoos to keep up the intensity of her auburn hue! “When you have hair that is colored and worked on every single day, you’ve got to spoil your hair a little bit,” the actress told InStyle.com. “And I don’t feel so bad because I read an interview with Sofia Vergara, where she said she uses eight!” Kidding aside, Walsh said her go-to is Bumble & Bumble’s True Red Color Support line ($23 each; bumbleandbumble.com). “Some shampoos for color-treated hair turn red hair a little pink, but Bumble & Bumble’s is a coppery red, which works great for me,” she said. “And I try not to wash it every day since red hair fades super fast.” See the redhead in a new episode of Private Practice tonight at 10/9c on ABC.

‘Grey’s Anatomy’ scoop: ‘What If’ ep to bring Derek and Addison back together
Posted By: | December 2, 2011

Just in time for February sweeps, Grey’s Anatomy will travel to a parallel universe in which Derek (Patrick Dempsey) and Addison (Kate Walsh) never broke up.

The “What If?” episode takes off after Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) wonders what would have been different in her life if her mother (Kate Burton) had never been afflicted with Alzheimer’s. With that kind of game changing detail, you can imagine other Grey’s favorites may be making their way back to Seattle Grace, although Walsh will be the only former member of the main cast to reappear.

Kate Holds no Apologies for Using Nasty Words at Sheen’s Roast
Posted By: | September 21, 2011

Of all the roasters on the Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen, there was no bigger surprise than the addition of actress Kate Walsh, who normally plays a prim and proper doctor on Private Practice. Walsh showed off her raunchy side on the special, and shocked everyone in attendance with her off-color humor.

Kate Walsh showed the big boys how it was done during the Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen, which aired to the highest ratings for a roast to date on the network, with an audience of 6.4 million viewers.

The Private Practice star revealed a side of herself that fans never knew, the side that could toss them back with the big boys. Walsh had one of the most memorable lines of the evening, stating to Sheen, “I have to say Charlie, you are an incredible medical specimen. I guess that’s the benefits of waking up every morning at the crack of crack. It’s amazing, after abusing your lungs, liver and kidneys, the only thing you’ve ever had removed is your kids.”

Ouch!

Walsh revealed to USA Today in an interview that, “It was a good exercise in masochism to go up there.”

She also revealed that she was admittedly worried about the gig, stating, “I was like, ‘Oh my God, what am I doing? I have never done a roast before.’ But there are no regrets. You never want to rest on your laurels. You want to keep doing things that terrify you.” She also revealed that she started her career in improv.

Walsh also stated to the newspaper, “I do have a little bit of raunch. I’m half Irish after all, so come on!”

At the end of the roast, it was Sheen who had the last laugh. He took the podium and stated, “Once again I come out unscathed. You can’t hurt me, I can’t kill me. I’m done with the winning because I’ve already won.”

Kate Walsh, Seth MacFarlane Mock Charlie Sheen at Brutal Roast
Posted By: | September 20, 2011

Totally tasteless or epically awesome?

Charlie Sheen was the good-natured butt of one shocking joke after another at Comedy Central’s roast, which aired Monday night.

The kinder, gentler actor, 46, was the dishonored guest of honor at the raunchy fest, hosted by Seth MacFarlane and featuring such roasters as Jon Lovitz, Kate Walsh, Jeffrey Ross, Mike Tyson, Anthony Jeselnik, Steve-O, Amy Schumer, William Shatner and Patrice O’Neal.

What were some of the lowest blows and funniest insults about the star, who’s famously battled drug and alcohol addiction, sparred with exes over his kids and partied heavily with strippers, porn stars and escorts?

Quipped Kate Walsh: “I have to say, Charlie, you are an incredible medical specimen. I guess that’s one of the benefits of waking up every morning at the crack of crack…It’s amazing — after abusing your lungs, liver and kidneys, the only thing you’ve had removed is your kids.”
